A Few Thoughts On Today

I'm not sure how to start this BUT I wanted to get a few thoughts out on today's abomination.

1. This is the worst offensive line since Gundy year one. That last TD throw down the middle was out of a heavy diamond with two backs staying in to block....and I don't think we went back to it. These guys can't be counted on to block. See number 2 and 3

2. This plays in to number one but JW has to stay at QB and his legs are the reason why. Frankly we need his legs to run away from the situations when, heaven forbid the other team blitzes. Those of you calling for some one else weren't watching our QB run for his life. JW starts at QB the rest of the year I'd bet and sadly it has little to do with his arm.  

3. Let's be honest, if Smith can't be counted on to force one yard we shouldn't see him much on offense, much less on Instagram. ...but the line plays a role in this too. The running back with the cartoon biceps finished with less than 10 yards because he got hit in the backfield or was forced to run sideways right after hand off. 

4. Coach toddler toys play calling. I hope he's living humbly because he's going back to D2 soon if this keeps up. Rigid devotion to zone reads and an odd reluctance to stick with the few things that did work were infuriating.  The corner fade at the end? The biggest thing a coordinator has to do is understand the chess pieces he has to work with. We spent lots of time asking rooks to run diagonal and pawns to cross the whole board. 

5. Open tryouts for special teams. It was like Defo was on our sidelines 

6. Our Deion Sanders wannabe CB needs to grow up. They ran right at him all game. If our wide receivers blocked WV like he got blocked today we would be erecting monuments in honor of their cowboyness. 

7. I'll stay true to what I said on Twitter earlier in the year. This team's ceeling is 10 wins at most 8 wouldn't shock me. 

8. The defense had some terribly stupid plays and still nearly saved the day from the pathetic offense. The Bill Young was wrongly dismissed crowd should point me to what school he works for now.
