Putting Pete On Panties to Catch Texas

"When should a college athlete turn pro? Not until he has earned all he can in college as an amateur" --Will Rogers

Yesterday I went diving through a wealth of hidden information on Okstate.com. I was looking for the process on how to become a Okstate athletic marketing license holder when I stumbled on the list approved licensees from last year. Uhh no I said no t-shirts, I was curious about Koozies.  I thought you might find a brief brief summary of the 254 page list interesting. Because these are amateur athletes we support after all.

As of September 2012 there are

More than 40 Tote bag and T shirt makers
16 reusable shopping bag producers
10 Lingerie makers---because sexy time calls for Pistol Pete.
Over 20 Hood or Hitch covers license holders
8 Air Freshener makers
8 door accessories sellers
29 Koozies makers
25 Barware licenses, because these are separate
But only 8 flask makers!
13. Christmas accessories ( Not counting the 37 Christmas ornament companies )
11. Checkbook covers
8. Wall Calendars (Other separate groups for desk calendars and planners)
7.Vinyl Balls (Full Size and Mini)
6. Foam/Plush Balls (Full Size and Mini)  No, really the two are separate categories
5. Slipper makers
4. Bottled Water sellers
3.Golf Shoes available
2. Internet Product and Service Companies
and just 1 disposable Camera company licensed to use our logos.

I'll leave a grander summary to the folks who aren't borrowing company time to write this, but I think it's time to be honest about amateurism. The list of license holders is 254 pages and here's the link . We're willing to put Pete on some interesting items for sure but this game takes money and lots of it to be successful.
